الهواري غزالي من مواليد 19 ديسمبر 1975 بسيدي بلبعاس بالجزائر.
تنحدر أسرته من عائلة آل خطاب بمستغانم.
حصل على شهادتي الليسانس والماجستير من جامعة تلمسان سنة 1997 و2001 في تخصص لغة وأدب عربي.
وحصل بعد ذلك على دبلوم الدراسات المعمَّقة بجامعة ميشال دي مونتاني ببوردو الثالثة سنة 2002 وعلى شهادة الدكتوراه سنة 2010 بالجامعة نفسها.
شغل مناصب عدَّة في التعليم الجامعي بكل من جامعة بوردو الثانية والثالثة وبجامعة السربون.
حصل على جائزة الرَّئيس الأولى للشعر سنة 2008 بالجزائر وهو يشغل حاليا منصب أستاذ محاضر بقسم الدراسات الشَّرقيَّة بجامعة لافانسان بباريس.
صدرت له أعمال نقدية وشعرية، وترجمات للشعر الفرنسي والإيطالي.

يضمّ هذا الكتابُ في شكلِه الشّعريّ جانبًا من رحلات الهواري غزالي المتعدّدة التي قادته إلى مدينة غرناطة الأندلسيّة. ففي هذه المدينة، يكشفُ الشَّاعر بِفَضْلِ قصرِ الحمراء وحيّ البيّازين ولقاءاته بالأندلسيّين ذوي الأصول العربيّة، كما هي الحال مع ليلى أنطونيا ماریَا مینوز، أو بأساتِذَتهم على غرارِ المستعرب د.خوسيه ميغيل بويرتا فيلشاز، عن جانبٍ من العلاقةِ التي نشأتْ بين ذاكرةِ الشّاعر وحاضرِه، بين جذورِ الحضارةِ وأغصانها. إنّه يتّخذُ من شِعارِ "الغبطةِ المتّصلة"، المنقوش على جدران مزارات غرناطة وإشبيليه وفاس وتلمسان، مدخلًا إلى الماضي ليعيد كتابةَ قصائد العشق الموهوب إلى غرناطة وهي تتصل بما هو مُشِعّ من جمالها الدائم حتّى اليوم.
