في دولة مجهولة، تأسست قوى خاصة، تضم جهازين عسكريين؛ الأولى تشمل أعرق وأفضل المحققين من كافة أنحاء العالم، والأخرى تضم جنود عسكريين تم تدريبهم بشكل مكثف. القوى بعيدة كل البعد عن حكم الدولة، بل بقوتها هي من تحكم العالم إن أرادت، حاكمها أو مؤسسها هو "دو" محقق من النخبة. ذات يوم تصله مذكرة سوداء، تحمل بين طياتها معاني مبهمة، فتبدأ بعدها سلسلة جرائم قتل بالوقوع مخلفة ورائها ضحايا، في طريقة قتلهم معنى غامض، مفاده إرسال رسالة تنذر بزيف العالم الذي يعيش فيه "دو" وبوجود حقائق تم تدنيسها منذ 20 عاما، مرتبطة بحياته الغريبة، المزيفة. بينما يحاول "دو" الفاقد لذكرياته، فك اللغز تجره الرياح نحو اكتشاف ما حدث له ولأصدقائه في طفولته، وكيف تلك الأحداث كانت سبب في دمار العالم و البشرية.
