تبارت الأقلام في العصر الحديث ما بين مؤيد ومعارض للقصيدة النثرية والبداية جاءت عندما ارتبطت مجلة شعر اللبنانية، التي أسسها الشاعران 1957أدونيس ويوسف الخال في العام عرف في أدبيات النقد ُ بما بات ي ، العربي الحديث باسم "قصيدة النثر"، فقد احتضنت هذه المجلة هذا الجنس الأدبي ومنحته الشرعية وعملت على التنظير والترويج له. ويعني ظهور ا لقصيدة التفعيلة - وهي ً ومنافس ً أن بديلا ، من بين ما يعني ، قصيدة النثر القصيدة التي انطلقت في أواخر الأربعينيات من العراق ومنه إلى بقية البلدان العربية - قد برز على الساحة الأدبية العربية، وأن التنافس في هذه ا في صالح الجديد بيد أن مشروع قصيدة النثر لم يقيض ً الأحوال يأتي دائم له النجاح، فأغلقت المجلة بعد سبع سنوات من انطلاقها .
