ولد أحمد شفيق بهجت في 15 نوفمبر 1932 بالقاهرة، وتوفى 11 ديسمبر 2011متزوج وله ابنان, حصل على ليسانس حقوق من جامعة القاهرة. كاتب صحفي عمل صحفيًا بجريدة أخبار اليوم (1955)، ومجلة صباح الخير (1957)، وجريدة الأهرام (1958) ثم رئيس مجلس الإدارة ورئيس تحرير مجلة الإذاعة والتليفزيون (1976).. ونائب رئيس التحرير للشئون الفنية بجريدة الأهرام منذ (1982) يكتب عمود "صندوق الدنيا" بجريدة الأهرام. عضو نقابة الصحفيين وله أكثر من عشرين مؤلفًا دينيًا وأدبيًا، منها: أنبياء الله، بحار الحب عند الصوفية، مذكرات صائم، مذكرات زوج، أحسن القصص، الطريق إلى الله، قميص يوسف، وغيرها. له برنامج إذاعي يومي بعنوان: كلمتين وبس
الكتاب يتبع أدب الطفل يندرج تحت قصص الأطفال وتحتوي القصة على الصور والرسوم يتحدث فيها المؤلف عن تجربة طفل ساذج مع قط مثقف من خلال الحوار معه .
