الكتاب دراسة نقدية في أعمال سردية ونقدية وموضوعات أدبية، طبقت فيها الفعل القرائي، بوصفها فعلا مرحا بالأساس، نحس فيه بلذة ومتعة لا متناهية، فالكتاب سلسلة من القراءات التي قرأنا فيها أعمال سردية، وموضوعات اجتماعية، وكتب نقدية، وأغانٍ هادفة، حاولنا إبراز مدلولاتها، وتقريبها إلى القارئ، وإشعاره بلذة القراءة ومتعتها الخلاّقة، ومرحها الممتد عبر خطوط متواشجة مع معالم التآويل التي تتولد في نفسية القارئ أثناء تحاوره مع النص المقروء، باستحضار خلفية معرفية متعددة، يقرأ بها النص ويوؤله، إن هدفنا من هذا الكتاب، ظاهر أساسا في الإجابة عن سؤال كيف نقرأ؟ أو بالأحرى، كيف نحس بالمرح القرائي؟ إجابة ستتولد بعد قراءة النصوص التي اشتغلنا عليها، باستيضاح غوامضها وخفاياها، وإبداء بواطنها وتعيينها، وجعلها مُحققِةً لإشكال الإقراء وكيفية القراءة، مع السعي إلى إشراك القارئ في الموضوعات التي اشتغلنا عليها، والتطلع إلى تأنيسه والتنفيس عنه، واستظرافه واستطرافه، واستلطافه واستملاحه.
