"قاموسى الممتع" هدية جميلة لأولادك تعلمهم كلمات الإنجليزية بالحرف والكلمة والصورة والصوت، ففى صفحات القاموس قدم "سلامة محمد سلامة" و"عبد الحميد توفيق" مادة علمية مناسبة للمبتدئين من الأطفال فى تعلم الكلمات الإنجليزية، تنوعت وشملت موضوعات عديدة فكانت بمثابة دائرة معارف لغوية مصغرة، فنجد جسم الإنسان والكلمات المتعلقة به مثل اليد والكتف والظهر والفخذ وغير ذلك الكثير من أجزاء وتفاصيل جسم الإنسان، وتجد بالمثل فى باقى الموضوعات ألا وهى العائلة، المنزل، غرف المعيشة والطعام والنوم، الحمام والمطبخ، الملابس، المدرسة، المدينة، شاطئ البحر، المتنزه، المزرعة، الحيوانات، السوق، الرياضات، المستشفى، مهن الناس، على الطريق، محطة السكة الحديد، المطار، الميناء، الأفعال، الأرقام، المقاييس والزمن وأشهر السنة وأيام الأسبوع والفصول، الأشكال والألوان، الكلمات المتقابلة، العالم وبلدانه والجهات الأصلية فيه، وأخيراً نصعد إلى الفضاء وكواكبه وأقماره الطبيعية والصناعية.
هذا عن المادة العلمية أما عن الرسوم فهى جزء لا يتجزأ من هذه العملية التعليمية الشائقة فقد جاءت معبرة وألوانها محببة لنفوس الأطفال وهى للفنان "شريف زهير". جدير بالذكر أن القاموس يضم فى نهايته فهرس إنجليزى عربى مرتب أبجدياً بالكلمات الإنجليزية وترجمتها بأكثر من ألف وتسعمائة وخمسين كلمة، هذا بالإضافة إلى شريط كاسيت ينطق بمحتويات القاموس "الممتع".
