يتناول الكتاب إشكالية التربية والحداثة في العالم العربي في ضوء المتغيرات الاجتماعية والتربوية في عصر العولمة. ويتضمن الكتاب تسعة فصول بالإضافة إلى مقدمة وخاتمة.
يتناول الفصل الأول من الكتاب مفهوم الحداثة في تجلياته المختلفة وإسقاطاته المتنوعة، وفي الفصل الثاني يعالج مفهوم بعد الحداثة في مختلف تعرجاته وتكويناته. أما الفصل الثالث فيتناول التربية في سياق الحداثة ويستكشف أبعاد العلاقة القائمة بينهما. وقد خصص الفصل الرابع لمناقشة الجوانب الإنسانية للحداثة التربوية. ومن ثم يتناول الفصل الخامس الثورة الكوبرنيكية في التربية بوصفها حداثة تربوية مستجدة تتغير فيها موازين العلاقة في المعادلات التربوية الجديدة.
في الفصل السادس يتناول الكتاب الإصلاح التربوي في التربية العربية بوصفه صيغة حداثية جديدة تحاول تحقيق التوازن في معادلة التربية والحداثة في عصر متغير , أما الفصل السابع فيتناول معادلة التنوير في التربية العربية بوصفه حداثة متجددة تنقل التربية العربية إلى آفاق جديدة في معادلة التربية والعولمة .
وفي الفصل الثامن نجد تناولا للعلاقة بين التربية والعولمة بوصفها حداثة اقتصادية متقدمة.
وفي الفصل التاسع والأخير يتناول الكتاب إشكالية التربية والحداثة في ضوء التغيرات السياسية والاجتماعية للحادي عشر من سبتمبر.
والكتاب في مجملة يشكل محاولة لتحليل طبيعة العلاقة بين متغيرات العصر والتربية من مدخل الحداثة التربوية المنتظرة التي يمكنها أن تخرج التربية العربية من أزماتها واختناقاتها. وقد أعد ليكون كتاب مرجعيا لطلاب كلية التربية بجامعة الكويت وغيرها من الجامعات العربية .

Educational Modernity Challenges in a Changing Era

The book deals with the problematic of education and modernity in the Arab world in the light of social and educational changes in the era of globalization.

The book contains nine chapters in addition to the introduction and the conclusion. The first chapter addresses the concept of modernity in its different aspects and projections, while the Second chapter deals with the concept of post-modernity in its various Meanders and formations.
In this line, the third chapter deals with the Education in the context of modernity and explores the dimensions of the relationship between both concepts. Chapter IV is dedicated to discuss the humanitarian aspects of educational modernity, while the next addresses the Copernican revolution in education an emerging educational modernity, in which the balance of the relationship in the new educational equations is changing.
In Chapter VI we expose educational reforms in Arab Educational systems as a new modernist version which is trying to achieve a new balancing in the equation of education and modernity in a changing era. The Chapter VII deals with the equation of enlightenment in the education at the Arab world as a renewed modernity that takes Arab education to new heights in the equation of education and globalization.
Chapter VIII addresses the relationship between Education and Globalization described as an advanced economic modernity, when the ninth and last chapter addresses the problematic of education and modernity in the light of the political and social changes up to 11th of September.

The book as a whole is an essay to analyze the nature of the relationship between the era and education variables from the scope of the expected educational modernity that can take it out from its difficulties and crisis. The book has been elaborated to be a reference book for students of the Faculty of Education at the University of Kuwait and other Arab universities.
