Book Description
كتاب "الطّارئ على السُّكُرْدان" الذي نقدمه اليوم، هو تكملة لكتاب "سُكُرْدان السُّلطان"، ألّفه ابن أبي حجلة - كسابقه - لسلطان مصر الناصر حسن بن محمد بن المنصور قلاوون؛ جمع فيه من الأخبار الطَّريفة، والنّوادر اللطيفة، والحِكم الرفيعة، والأشعار الحسنة، والاقتباسات الرائقة، ما فيه عبرةٌ وفائدةٌ.
والسُّكُرْدانُ لفظٌ تركيّ يعني الخِوان أو المائدة التي يوضع عليها الطعام، ويستعمل أيضًا للخزانة التي يحفظ فيها المشروب والمأكول، وقد استخدمها ابن أبي حجلة عنوانًا لكتابه على سبيل التشبيه، فقد جمع فيه من تفاريق الأدب ومنتخبات الأخبار ما يليق بأن يذاكَر به في مجالس السلطان.
