إن علم التوحيد أساسُ الإيمان، ومبنى العلوم، وبه تندحر الشُبهات، وتتلاشى الشكوك، ويُحضَّن من بِدع الاعتقاد، اهتم به كبارُ علماء أهل السنة، وحرصوا على بنائه على قواعد متينة، وعلى إظهار معالمه، وردّ الشبه الوارد عليه.
ومن كتب في هذا العلم الشيخُ العلامة زين علي الكبير بن محمد الغازي الغموقي الداغستاني (ت 935هـ)، ومن مؤلفاته "مختصره" المشهور في علم العقائد والفقه والتصوف؛ الذي كان موضع عناية أهل بلاد داغستان وما حولها من الأشاعرة والشافعية، حيث كانوا يحفظونه ويهتمون بتعلمه، وقد شرح القسم الأول من هذا "المختصر" شيخ الأزهر علامة مصر الفقيه المحدث عبد الله الشرقاوي (ت1227هـ).
وهذا المتن مع شرحه من الكتب النافعة في علم التوحيد، وهو يُقَدِّمُ لطالبِ هذا العلم في مراحله الأولى مدخلاً لطيفاً إلى تعلم العقائد، بسبب اشتماله على إشاراتٍ لطيفةٍ جديرة بالاهتمام، وإناره لبعض المسائل الدقيقة، مع فوائدُ مختلفة، وقد أثراه محققه بتعليقات تناسب المقام، وتجلّي بعض المسائل، وتكشف عنها الغموض.
