على لحنِ هواكِ وما أعذبهُ لحنُ يا منى عمري وفلذةَ كبديٍ . .
قالتْ لي : يا أبتِ دعكَ ممنْ حولكَ !
وأنظمُ في شعرا إني ملكُ فؤادُكَ وما يهوى .
وحقٌ لي عليكَ يا عمري . .
أنْ أكونَ وحيَ خيالكَ .
قلتُ لها : يا أروةَ عمري ومنايا !
أنتِ سعديّ ورضايَ .
دعيَ أنتَ منْ حولي !
ولا تكوني ندا في ميزانِ نظمي .
أنتَ الروحُ الذي سكنَ الفؤادُ !
أنتَ زهرة عمري . .
بلْ أنتَ بستانُ حياتي .
أنتَ الصفحةُ البيضاءُ لي . .
أنقشُ فيها حكمةُ عمري وأيامي .
كيفَ أنظمُ لكَ قصيدةٌ !
وأنتَ في الأصلِ بيتَ القصيدِ . .
بيتُ القصيدِ لهمسٍ وفكرِ وألقِ مجيدْ .
أتطلبينَ منيُ ما أحيا عليهِ !
أتعلمينَ أنكَ حقٌ لحلمِ كمٍ تمنيتُ !
أتدرينَ أنكَ ضياءً بعدَ ظلامِ فيهِ عشتُ !
أنتَ أجمل فصولِ قصةِ حياتي . .
أنتَ أعزب لحنٍ أسكنَ إليهِ . .
يا أثمن منْ في الوجودِ لدى . .
كفاني أنكَ سبيلُ جنتي .
يا أروتي عيشي حياتكَ وأرتوي !
