من الناس مشهورون ومغمورون، وكذلك الشواهد، منها ما تتناقله الأفواه، وتتداوله الكتب، ويدور فيما بين المصنّـفين، ومنها ما يُرخِي عليه الزمان سدول نسيانه وإهماله. ومن تلك الشواهد التي كُتب لها الخلود والذيوع: الشواهد النحوية. ولأهميتها البالغة فقد عُنِيَ العلماء بوضع المعاجم التي تجمعها، وتصنيفِ الكتب التي تشرحها.
ومن أولئك العلماء الذين أولوا الشاهد النحوي عناية كبيرة: العلّامة النحوي المَكِين ابن هشام الأنصاري. وتتناول هذه الدراسة القيّمة التي بين أيدينا منهج ابن هشام في دراسة الشاهد النحوي في كتابه «شرح شذور الذهب»، وتُبِين عن الأسس العلمية التي بنى عليها دراسته لشواهد النحو، إذ أحصى فيها المؤلفان الظاهرة، وقسّما المادة التي تم إحصاؤها إلى عنوانات، ثم استعرضا مواقف النحويين المتقدّمين منها إذا استحقّ الأمر المقارنة، أو اكتفيا بالإشارة إلى المؤلفات التي أوردت الشاهد، واستخلصا تلك الأسس العلمية لمنهج ابن هشام في التعامل مع الشواهد النحوية: تأصيلًا وتوجيهًا واستدلالًا ونقدًا، على اختلاف أنواع الشواهد ما بين القرآن والحديث والشعر.
