حظي الإمامُ ناصرُ الدين منصورٌ الطبَلاويّ (ت١٠١٤هـ) سبطُ شيخ الإسلام ناصر الدين محمد بن سالم الطبَلاويّ (ت966هـ)؛ بنشأةٍ مباركة، وشيوخٍ كبار، وتلامذةٍ أبرار، ومكانةٍ علميةٍ رفيعة. فقد أخذ عن ابن قاسم العبّادي، والشمس الرملي، وغيرهما من أعلام القرن العاشر الهجري. وأخذ عنه الشمسُ الشوبري والنور الحلبي صاحب «السيرة»، وغيرُهما من أعيان القرن الحادي عشر الهجري. وبلغ الطبَلاويّ السبطُ الغايةَ في تحقيق العلوم العقلية والنقلية، مع الديانة والعبادة، وصنّف في القراءات والعربية والفقه والتفسير والأصول.
ومن جِياد تصانيفه هذا الشرحُ المَزْجيّ على متن «الورقات» في أصول الفقه، الذي شرح فيه التعاريف، ووضّح المسائل، واستدلّ لها بالنصوص من آياتٍ وأحاديثَ وشعر، يوجّه الاعتراضات، ويذكر مذاهبَ الأصوليين، ويمثّل للمسائل بتطبيقاتها الفقهية، ويحرِّر ما يعرض له من مسائل الكلام والنحْو ومصطلح الحديث، مستدرِكًا بعض ما فات ذكرُه في متن «الورقات»، فجاء شرحًا ماتعًا وافيًا بالمقصود.
