يُعد الإمام أبو القاسم القشيري أحد أعلام الأمة الذين كتب الله لهم القبول، فانتشر في الآفاق ذكرهُ، وشاعت بين الناس كتُبه، وأطبقت الأمة على وصفه بالإمامه والمعرفة،
ولعل كتابه " الرسالة" قد نال من الشهرة الحظ الأوفر، والنصيب الأوفى، فوقفت معرفة كثير من الناس بهذا الإمام وإفادتهم من جليل علمه هند هذه "الرسالة" ولم تتعدّها إلى غيرها من مصنفاتها الماتعة، ورسائله النافعة.
وقد أسهم جماعة من الباحثين المعاصرين في تحقيق كتب الإمام القشيري ونشرها، ويكشف هذا الكتاب اليوم النقاب عن جانب آخر من تراث هذا الإمام، وهو "القصيدة" التي نظمها في جواب أسئلة وردت عليه في بعض مسائل العقيدة الإسلامية.
ويأتي هذا الشرح – وهو أول شروح هذه "القصيدة" فيما نعلم- بعد ألف عام تقريباً من نظمها، ليفسِّر غريب ألفاظها، ويبين معانيها، معرِّجًا على بعض مباحث الحديث والتفسير، وشيء من مسائل الإعراب والبلاغة، في أسلوب سهل وحُلّة قَشِية، ليبني لبنة أخرى في صرح عقيدة أهل السنة والجماعة.
