هذه رحلةٌ من نوادر الرحلات العلمية، كان الرحّالةُ فيها العلّامةَ الجليل، والمحدِّثَ النبيل، أبا الفداء إسماعيلَ بنَ محمدٍ الجَرّاحي العَجلوني (ت1162هـ)، صاحبَ "كشف الخفا" وغيره من المؤلفات الماتعة النافعة.
بدأ العجلوني رحلته من دمشق، فحماة وطرابلس وبعلبك وغيرها من البقاع، واصفًا ما زاره من المعالم الأثرية، محدِّثًا عن أعلام تلك المدن من العلماء والأمراء والأعيان، ومجالسه معهم، فساق جملةً من التراجم المهمة، والأشعار الرائقة، والإجازات العلمية النادرة. وقد عرض العجلوني في فصل كامل عقائدَ بعض الفِرَق الباطنية الباطلة كالإسماعيلية والنصيرية اللتَين كان لهما تواجدٌ في بعض البقاع الشامية، معرِّجًا على فتاوى العلماء المتعلقة بمعاملة هؤلاء.
وقد أبلى المحقق الكريم الأستاذ سليمان الحراكي حفظه الله في خدمة هذه الرحلة بلاءً حسنًا، إذ قدّم لها بمقدمةٍ حافلة، وعلّق عليها بتعليقاتٍ ضافية، وختم عمله فيها بفهارسَ وافية، وأخرجه فريق #الفتح الفني إخراجًا في غاية الجمال، فجاءت هذه الرحلة في سِفْر بديع منيرٍ من كل جوانبه.
