الماء شريان الحياة، فبدونه لا تستقيم الحياة على كوكب – الأرض، كما أنه أعظم النعم التي أسداها المولى – عز وجل ا لقوله – سبحانه وتعالى – في سورة ًإلى جميع مخلوقاته، مصداق ُهَيِقْسُنَا وًتْيَ مًةَدْلَ بِهِ بَيِيْحُنِا لًورُهَ طًاءَ مِاءَمَّ السَنِا مَنْلَزْنَاَالفرقان: «و ]، إلا أن الماء 49 ،48ا» [الآيتان ًيـرِثَ كَّيِاسَنَاَا وًامَعْنَا ا َنْقَلَا خَّمِم % فقط من كميات المياه في الكون، كما أن 1العذب لا يمثل سوى % من المياه عبارة عن مناطق ثلجية، أما مياه البحار والمحيطات 2 % من كميات المياه على سطح الأرض؛ لذا فإن كمية 97فإنها تمثل المياه العذبة على المستوى العالمي تعتبر محدودة للغاية مقارنة ا مع الزيادة المطردة في أعداد البشر ًبالطلب المتزايد عليها، خصوص على مستوى العالم.
