طرقت مسألة وجود الله من عدمه منذ القدم من قبل الفلاسفة ورجال وعلماء الدين وآخرين. وعلى الصعيد الفلسفي، فمصطلح (وجود الله) يتطرق إلى أصل وجود الله، طبيعته وحدود إدراك البشر له.. أما على الصعيد الديني، فإن رجال وعلماء الدين باختلاف ديانتهم يقولون بأنهم استطعوا البرهنة على وجود الله، بالاعتماد على الغيب فقط، بحسب بعض الديانات أو تيارات دون غيرها داخل الدين الواحد. كما يثير النقاش حول وجود الله وقضايا فلسفية عديدة، كمشكلة رئيسية هى عدم وجود تعريف متفق عليه لله بين رافضي وجود الله والمعتقدين بوجوده. وبعض التعريفات عامه وغير محدده تتحدث عن قوة كونية، بينما هناك تعريفات اخرى تتطرق إلى إله بمواصفات خاصه.
