كان المرحوم الدكتور حامد الغوابي طبيباً فذا وداعية إسلامياً، فكان بارعا في الطب، وكان موفقاً في الدعوة، ولقد نفعه طبه في حسن عرضه لدعوته، كما نفعت دعوته فجعلته مخلصاً في مهنته، وكان يتدين حين يطبب، وكان يعالج حين يدعو، ولم يضره أن قال عنه قائلون من الأطباء: لماذا يخلط بين الطب والدعوة، كما لم يضره أن يقول قائلون من رجال الدين: لماذا يشاركنا مجالنا وهو لا يحمل شهادة من شهادات العلماء. لم يضره هؤلاء ولا هؤلاء، بل مضى في سبيله يجاهد بمشرطة ودوائه .. كما يجاهد ببينه وقلمه. وظل على طريقه الذي عرفه حتى لقي ربه في التاسع عشر من يناير 1960 عليه رحمة الله ورضوانه.
