يتناول هذا البحث دراسة إلى مجموعة من التوصيات تهدف إلى أولاً: ضرورة ترشيد استخدام المياه وبصفة خاصة الاستخدام الزراعى، والحفاظ على مستوى متوازان للخزان الجوفى تدعيما لاستمرار استقرار السكان فى أماكنهم بالمناطق الداخلية، مما يقلل من حجم تيارات الهجرة الداخلية إلى المناطق الحضرية. ثانياً: الاستمرار فى تبنى سياسة تنظيم الأسرة الأمر الذى من شأنه استمرار انخفاض معدلات الخصوبة الكلية التى تؤدى إلى تقليل معدلات الزيادة الطبيعية والنمو السنوى للسكان. ثالثاً: ضرورة إيجاد توازن إقليمى بتوجيه بعض المشروعات التنموية نحو المناطق الداخلية (ما يحفز السكان على الاستقرار فى أماكنهم)؛ لتخفيف الضغط عن المناطق الساحلية والعاصمة، بما يتوافق مع سياسة إعادة توزيع السكان في محافظات ومناطق السلطنة.
