• حصل على البكالوريوس من كلية التجارة بجامعة الملك سعود بالرياض عام 1963.
• تلقى تعليمه العالي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية فحصل على شهادة الماجستير في الإدارة من جامعة منيسوتا عام 1966، ثم حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في الإدارة العامة من الجامعة الأمريكية بواشنطن في مطلع عام 1970.
• تدرج في السلك الأكاديمي فحصل على درجة أستاذ عام 1979.
• عمل عميداً لكلية التجارة , وكلية العلوم الاجتماعية , وكلية الدراسات العليا، مستشار في عدة هيئات علمية, وعضو في هيئة تحرير المجلة العربية للإدارة, ومجلة العلوم الاجتماعية.
• له العديد من المؤلفات والدواوين الشعرية.

تشتمل النواقل العصبية الموجودة في الجهاز العصبي المركزي على الأمينات مثل الدوبامين والنورادرينالين والأدرينالين والسيروتين والهستامين والاستيل كولين، وتسيطر هذه الأمينات على عموم وظائف الجسم كالسلوك والتكاثر والنمو وذلك من خلال تأثيرها المباشر على العوامل المحررة للهرمونات في منطقة تحت المهاد التي تؤثر بدورها على فعالية الغدة النخامية.
