Book Description
HIS STUDY was conducted at Barrage Horticulture Experiment Station, El-Kanatet. Kalubia during 1995-1997. Twenty-one tomato cvs. and lines were evaluated in the 1995 summer season as potential parents for hybrids. Line VFNI' produced the highest early and total yield. Cv. Oxheart produced the heaviest fruits (215,5 g). CVs. Oxhean and Super Marmande had 'he largest number of ICA31es (NL) per fruit. Line UC 90 produced the firmest fruits. cvs. Clairvil, Rio Grande. Tropic, Moneymaker, RcdsLar. and Castleking end line UC 204-A had the highest TSS content. Line UC 204-A end cv. Castleking had thc highest fruit asorbic acid (AA) content. Early Stone and line VFNT had the highest percentage of titratable acidity (TA). cvs. Pearsonett, Pakmor B and Tropic had the highest significant pH value .Based on the above trial , seeds of 21 hybrids were and evaluated far yeld in the 1996 summer season along with their pamnLs. Consequcntly, 14 hybrids were re-evaluated in the 1997 summer season along with their parents.
