"ساق المؤلف كتابه هذا في صفات الجنة ونعيمها وصفات أهلها وساكنيها مستنداً في كل ما يذكره إلى الأحاديث المرفوعة، والآثار الموقوفة، والأسرار المودعة في كثير من الآيات، واسم الكتاب يطابق مسماه "حادي الأرواح إلى بلاد الأفراح" ولفظه يوافق معناه، فهو عند لسان كل عبد مؤمن وقلبه. وقصد في ذلك بشارة المؤمنين بما أعد الله لهم في الجنة منهم المستحقون للبشرى في الحياة الدنيا وفي الآخرة. وقد قسمه ضمن سبعين باباً. وهذا بعض ما جاء في عناوين هذه الأبواب: في بيان وجود الجنة، في اختلاف الناس في الجنة التي أسكنها آدم هل هي جنة الخلود أم جنة الأرض... في ذكر عدد أبواب الجنة، في مكان الجنة... في مفتاح الجنة... في طلب الجنة أهلها من ربهم وشفاعتها فيهم وطلبهم لها... في عدد الجنان وأنواعها... في ذكر بوابيها وخازنيها، في ذكر أول من يقرع باب الجنة، في ذكر أول الأمم دخولاً إلى الجنة... في ذكر سبق الفقراء والأغنياء إلى الجنة... في ذكر أصناف أهل الجنة التي ضُمنت لهم دون غيرهم... في ذكر آخر أهل الجنة دخولاً إليها.
