هدف هذا البحث إلى تحديد مهارات تدريس القراءة في ضوء دراسة بيرلز ) PIRLS ( لدى معلّمي اللّغة العربيّة في المرحلة الابتدائيّة، ولتحقيق هذا الهدف أعدّ الباحث قائمة بمهارات تدريس القراءة في ضوء دراسة بيرلز، وفي ضوئها أعدّ استبانة لتحديد الاحتياجات للعيّنة، الّتي بلغ عددها ) 142 ( معلّمًا للّغة العربيّة في الصّف الرّابع الابتدائيّ، تابعين لإدارة التّعليم في محافظة صبيا؛ حيث تمّ اختيار العيّنة بطريقتين، الأولى: قصديّة وهم معلّمو اللّغة العربيّة للصّفّ الرّابع الابتدائيّ الّذين شارك طلّّبهم في اختبار بيرلز 2011 م، والثّانية: عشوائيّة وهم معلّمو اللّغة العربيّة للصّفّ الرّابع في المرحلة الابتدائيّة، وطبّق الباحث الاستبانة الّتي هدفت الخلوص إلى الاحتياجات للعيّنة في مهارات تدريس القراءة في ضوء دراسة بيرلز، واستخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفيّ في البحث، وقد أسفرت نتائج البحث عن: تحديد قائمة مهارات تدريس القراءة في ضوء دراسة بيرلز، وفي ضوء هذه النّتيجة قدّم الباحث جملة من التّوصيات والمقترحات.
