فل الإسلام حرية التفكير وعمل على رعايتها والحضارة الإسلامية شاهدة على ذلك، وقد جاء ذلك واضحًا جليًّا حين دعا الإسلام إلى إعمال العقل والفكر في أرجاء الكون كُلِّه؛ بسمائه وأرضه، وحثَّ على ذلك كثيرًا، ومن ذلك قول الله تعالى: {قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَعِظُكُمْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ أَنْ تَقُومُوا للهِ مَثْنَى وَفُرَادَى ثُمَّ تَتَفَكَّرُوا} [سبأ: 46]. وقوله سبحانه: {أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لا تَعْمَى الأَبْصَارُ وَلَكِنْ تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ
