• حصل على البكالوريوس من كلية التجارة بجامعة الملك سعود بالرياض عام 1963.
• تلقى تعليمه العالي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية فحصل على شهادة الماجستير في الإدارة من جامعة منيسوتا عام 1966، ثم حصل على شهادة الدكتوراه في الإدارة العامة من الجامعة الأمريكية بواشنطن في مطلع عام 1970.
• تدرج في السلك الأكاديمي فحصل على درجة أستاذ عام 1979.
• عمل عميداً لكلية التجارة , وكلية العلوم الاجتماعية , وكلية الدراسات العليا، مستشار في عدة هيئات علمية, وعضو في هيئة تحرير المجلة العربية للإدارة, ومجلة العلوم الاجتماعية.
• له العديد من المؤلفات والدواوين الشعرية.

عثمان أبو بكر دقنة (1836 - 4 ديسمبر 1926)، أحد أتباع وأمراء المهدي في السودان، وكان يشار إليه على أنه من الهدندوة إحدى قبائل البجا مسقط رأسه غير معروف ولكن يقال إن مسقط رأسه كان في سواكن المطلة على البحر الأحمر في شمال شرق السودان. عاش عثمان في الإسكندرية، بمصر وكان معروفا باسم عثمان علي، انضم إلى ثورة أحمد عرابي بعد فشل الحركة في معركة التل الكبير بتاريخ 13 سبتمبر 1882، انضم إلى ثورةالمهدي. خلال هذا الوقت تبلور لقبه دقنة بسبب كثافة لحيته تسلم قيادة جيش قوي حول سواكن وكبد بيكر باشا خسائر فادحة بالقرب من طوكر، جنوب شرق ذلك المكان في 4 فبراير 1884هزمه مباشرة وفى خطوة لتعريف شبابنا بقادة الثورات المضادة للاحتلال الأجنبى للوطن العربى والاسلامى سنحاول كتابة بعص
