يقدم هذا الكتاب "مقدمة في نظرية الأعداد"، كما يتضح من عنوانه، لفرع مهم من فروع الرياضيات هو نظرية الأعداد. يأتي هذا الكتاب فيما يزيد على السبعمائة صفحة، ضمت ثمانية وأربعين فصلاً. قُسِّم هذا الكتاب إلى جزأين. الجزء الأول منه تضمن مقدمة المؤلف، ومقدمة المترجم، والفصول من الفصل الأول إلى الفصل الثامن والعشرين، أما الجزء الثاني فتضمن الفصول من الفصل التاسع والعشرين إلى الفصل الثامن والأربعين بالإضافة إلى ثبت المصطلحات وكشاف الموضوعات. يعرض هذا الكتاب نظرية الأعداد بشكل رائع، فهو مكتوب للمبتدئين، حيث اعتبر المؤلف أن القارئ ليس لديه خلفية رياضية قوية، فلم يترك شيئاً للوضوح التلقائي، بل قام بتوضيح الواضح. وفي نفس الوقت، شَمل الكتاب على موضوعات متعددة لا يتضمنها الكثير من كتب نظرية الأعداد، عُرضت بأسلوب سلس متتالي متراكم مترابط، يدل على خبرة طويلة وعلم راسخ وحرفية عالية واحترافية نادرة، ناهيك عن زخم وشمولية التمارين الموضوعة في نهاية كل فصل، والتي لم يغفل الكاتب فيها عن وضع عبارات مساعدة تعتبر كمفاتيح للحل. وذلك يجعل من هذا الكتاب بيئة مناسبة للمبتدئ ولمن أراد أن يستزيد من نظرية الأعداد على حد سواء.
