سنن ابن ماجه هو واحد من كتب الحديث السنة، وقد جاء في هذا المؤلف مقترناً بتعليق لطيف للإمام السندي حيث اقتصر الإمام في تعليقه على ما يحتاج إليه القارئ والمدرس من ضبط اللفظ وأيضاً غريب الإعراب. وقد اشتمل هذا الكتاب من بين الكتب الستة على شؤون كثيرة انفرد بها عن غيره. والمشهور أن ما انفرد به يكون ضعيفاً وليس بكلي لكن الغالب كذلك.وقد ألف الحافظ العلامة أحمد بن بكر البوصيري في زوائده تأليفاً نبه على غالبها ونقلها السندي في تعليقه الذي جاء في هذا المؤلف. وقد جاء الكتاب بأجزائه الخمسة محققاً حيث عمل الشيخ خليل شيحا بالاعتناء به وإخراجه بهذه الحلة المعاصرة خدمة للسنة وللمسلمين.
