تروي "نساء المحروسة" قصة ثلاث أستاذات جامعيات يواجهن أسئلة الحياة ولكل أزمتها الخاصة. الراوية دينا تبحث عن موطيء قدم كامرأة وزوجة وأم وباحثة أكاديمية. تمر عبر رحلة أفكار تعكس من خلالها تجارب مرت بها المرأة المصرية في فترة الألفية. تدخل صراعا مع أفكار ابنتها المتطرفة ومعطيات خارج نطاق سيطرتها في علاقتها مع زوجها رجل الأعمال الثري وتتعثر في علاقة بلا ملامح مع زميلها الطموح. المرأتان الأخريان، رندا ونجوى، لهما نظرتين للحياة على طرفي نقيض. ففي حين أن رندا حرة تتمتع باستقلالية في التفكير والقرار ولا تتردد في مواجهة المجتمع، تختار نجوى الطرف الآخر المتوافق مع العرف الاجتماعي وتحقق ذاتها بطريقتها وتقدم إجابات مغايرة لمعضلاتها كامرأة وزوجة وأستاذة جامعية. الرواية تتحدث عن حرية الفكر والروح والجسد، والحدود بين المذكر والمؤنث على مدار الجغرافيا المصرية. الرواية بها سرد تاريخي يتخلل السرد الرئيسي. يطرح تساؤلات حول الهوية والذاكرة الجمعية للشعب المصري من خلال نسائه.
