كشفت دراسة بحثية بجامعة قنا عن «الواقع المرير»، الذى تعانيه معظم النساء فى محافظات الصعيد، وخاصةً فى محافظتى سوهاج وقنا، حيث أكدت الدراسة، التى أعدتها الدكتورة سلوى محمد المهدى، مدرس علم الاجتماع بكلية الآداب، أن نسبة تقترب من 95.5% من النساء فى كلتا المحافظتين «محرومات من الميراث»، بسبب الثقافة السائدة بأن الميراث سينتقل إلى أشخاص أغراب عن العائلة، فى حالة منح النساء حقوقهن فى الميراث. واعتبرت الدراسة، التى جاءت بعنوان: «ميراث المرأة فى الصعيد بين الواقع والمأمول»، أن المرأة فى «المجتمع الصعيدى» تعانى الظلم والقهر، بسبب ما تتعرض له من ممارسات «العنف الاقتصادى»، والتى تتمثل فى حرمانها من الميراث، ولفتت إلى أن هذه المعاناة قد تطول لفترة من الوقت، بسبب العادات الموروثة بين أبناء المجتمع. وتحدثت الدكتور سلوى المهدى لـ«الوطن» عن نتائج دراستها، وأكدت أنها أثناء دراستها لظاهرة حرمان المرأة من الميراث، اكتشفت أن هناك عدداً من القضاة ورجال الدين أكلوا حقوق شقيقاتهم، ورفضوا إعطاءهن نصيبهن فى الميراث، وأوضحت أنه عندما تحدثت لإحدى السيدات، وحثتها على رفع قضية للحصول على ميراثها، أخبرتها السيدة بأن شقيقها قاضٍ، فلمن تكون الشكوى، وهو المخول بإعطاء حقوق الناس، ولا يعطى شقيقته حقها. وأضافت أنها التقت إحدى الحالات، رفض شقيقها وهو «رجل دين»، منحها نصيبها من الميراث، معتبرةً أنه «أمر فى منتهى الخطورة».
