يحاول المؤلف، ومن موقعه كطبيب، إنصاف أجداده أطباء العروبة والإسلام، حيث قام بإلقاء نظرة على كيفية تطوير العرب لنظامهم الطبي ليأتي متوافقاً مع مجتمعهم الإسلامي مبرا عنه، فنجحوا في تطويره وبالتالي في تطوير الطب أي نجاح.وقد بحث في الكتب التي تناولت تاريخ الطب، البعض منها قديم والبعض الآخر وضع حديثا.وقد التزم المؤلف في بحثه هذا بالتوثيق العلمي، مثبتاً المصادر بجلاء، ناحياً منحى الأكاديمي الباحث عن الحقيقة والإنصاف والمؤلف وهو يبحث عن الإنصاف التاريخي لأجداده الأطباء، بدأ بلمحة تاريخية عن الطب عند الأمم الأخرى ومنها أمة العرب في الجاهلية ثم جعل الفصول اللاحقة للطب العربي فجراً ثم من بعد الفجر ضحى ثم بزغت شمس الطب العربي الإسلامي لتنطلق من مرحلة الترجمة ومنهم موروث الأمم الأخرى إلى مرحلة بلورة المنهج العلمي والانطلاق إلى الإبداع الذاتي وتصحيح المفاهيم الخاطئة أو توضيح المبهم في آراء السابقين من الأطباء.وبعد فالكتاب جامع شامل في موضوعه، وهو ما لم يجده القارئ في غيره إلا نادراً، وهو ثمين في مجاله وبجوار كونه إنصافا لحقبة تاريخية فهو مرجع مهم في حقله.....
