هذا الكتاب يتأمل في تسلسل وترابط آيات وسور القرآن الكريم حسب ترتيبها في المصحف الشريف، فلا شك أن حكمة الله اقتضت ترتيب القرآن على الشكل الذي نراه الآن في المصحف والذي تم جمعه منذ زمن الخلافة الرشيدة إلى يومنا هذا.
وهذا الترتيب الرباني يستدعي منا التفكر والتدبر في حكمة تسلسل القرآن، فلماذا يبدأ القرآن بسورة الفاتحة؟ وما علاقة سورة الفاتحة بباقي سور القرآن بصفة عامة وبسورة البقرة التي تليها بصفة خاصة؟ ولماذا يختتم المصحف بقصار السور على الرغم من أنها كانت أسبق في النزول حسب ترتيب الوحي؟ وما سبب تسمية أول سور القرآن بعد الفاتحة بــ البقرة، وما دلالة بدء كل سور القرآن باستثناء سورة التوبة، بالبسملة؟
كل هذه التساؤلات كانت محل تأمل وتدبر في هذا الكتاب، مع التركيز في آيات سورتي الفاتحة والبقرة وتبيان سياق الآيات بأسلوب سهل ومبسط يناسب القارئ في عصرنا الحديث.
