وبالتبعية جاءت صيغة الكتاب متراوحة بين التأمل الذاتي في التربية كمعطى نفسي واجتماعي وبين التأصيل العلمي الشرعي للظاهرة. لذلك قد يتعب القارئ في تتبع سعي الكاتب بين مكنوناتيه الذاتية من حيث الوعظ والنصيحة والدعوة إلى التدبر وحسن الفهم لنواميس الكون، وبين البسط المرجعي والمفهومي للتصور الإسلامي للتربية، وتفاعل الإنسان مع محيطه بكل مشتملاته الطبيعية والبشرية.
