ماتتْ أمُها.. لتري عذابات أغرب ما فيها أنها حقيقية, هي الصغيرة التي لم تتخط السابعة من عمرها, لم يبق لها أحد يهتم بها, بالأخص بعد سجن والدها بجريمة قتل, فأخذتها علي مضض جدتها " نفيسة " القاسية, التي استُبدل ما في صدرها بقطعة فحم متحجرة.
لتمر الأحداث.. والأيام.. والآلام .. متتابعة لا ترحم صِغر سنها وعودها الأخضر الطري, اغتصبها خالها! ... وعذبتها جدتها!
حتى ماتت ثم عادت! ... أو لم تمت من الأساس! لنكتشف أن الإنسان أبدي لا ينتهي, لكنه يمر بحالات لحيوات مختلفة, من حياة إلي حياة أخري لا نهاية لها.
