إن من الضرورة الإنسانية التي تقتضيها الحياة لمن كانت همته تغيير المستقبل وتوجيهه إلى الأصلح والأمثل؛ أن يرجع إلى ماضي الإنسان ويتعمّق في أحواله باحثًا ومنقبًا عن عوامل ارتقائه و أسباب انحداره، ليتفادى ما قد يضر بالمستقبل والناس.
إن هذا المُنصف الموضوعي الذي نظر إلى الماضي ليُشرق به حاضر المستقبل ليأبى أن يسير خلف مستبدي الحضارات ومغتصبي الأفكار؛بل يُـصرّ في استعلاء إلا أن ينطق بالحقيقة الواقعة التي قررها التاريخ البشري بإنصاف ومصداقية.
إذا كان هذا هو واجب أي باحث عمومًا ؛ فإنه في حق المسلم خصوصًا أوجب حتى أن الإسلام قد حثّ عليه للعبرة والاعتبار فقال:
"أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۖ فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى الْأَبْصَارُ وَلَٰكِن تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ"
هذا السير الفكري والعلمي بالبحث والمعرفة الصحيحة هو سبيل الارتقاء بالشعوب والمجتمعات، ولذلك فإن التاريخ ليأبى في عناد كبير إلا أن يسجل ما أحرزه المسلمون في حياتهم وما قدموه للإنسانية ، هذا التاريخ يأبى أن يستحقر ماضي المسلمين وتأثيرهم الإيجابي على غيرهم من باقي شعوب الأرض في شتى فنون المعرفة ومجالات الحياة.
ولهذا فإن تاريخ المسلمين حافل بالعطاء والازدهار عندما حكموا باسم الإسلام، وقد كان تأثيره كبيرًا إلى حد أنه جعل من ظلام الأرض نورًا مشرقًا تهتدي به حيارى المجتمعات.. وقد كانت لأوروبا نصيب وافر من هذا التأثر الإسلامي النافذ بعمقه إلى مشارق الأرض ومغاربها.
ومع أن هذه حقيقة تاريخية إلا أن هناك من يُحاول في استكبار أن ينكرها وأن ينسب إلى لنفسه الإبداع الخالص في هذه الحياة، ومن
واجبنا كمسلمين أن نبيّن ما يزوره هؤلاء الناس وأن نعلن للعالم كله المنبهر بحضارة أوروبا الراقية ما قدمه الإسلام والمسلمون للحياة وللإنسان .
