وهذا الكتاب يشرح بعضاً من وصاياه المقتطفة من كتابه البليغ (نهج البلاغة) وهو يمثل الفترة الزمنية التي كان فيها أمير المؤمنين علي ابن ابي طالب (كرم الله وجهه) على رأس الخلافة الإسلامية وكان يتحدث فيه عن شؤون السياسة والمجتمع وقضايا مهمة تخصّ الناس والعلاقات بين أبناء الأمة الإسلامية، ويعبر فيه عن روح الإسلام المعاصر، وهو انعكاس عن نور الكلام الإلهي وفصاحة المنطق النبوي، والذي يبين فيه سلوك السبيل للوصول إلى حقيقة أنه: لا إله إلا الله.
