يتناول هذا الكتاب 34 شاعراً وشاعرتين من الشعراء اللبنانيين الذين خرجوا من الدنيا، ويقدّم دراسة عن كلٍ منهم مع مختارات لبعض قصائدهم التي تمثّل شعرهم والإستشهاد بآراء بعض النقاد فيهم مقوّماً شِعرهم وواضعاً إياه في إطار مسيرة الشعر في لبنان الذي عُرف بإبداعه الشعري وروعة أدبه وتميّزه.
هؤلاء الشعراء عرفت بعضهم وكنت على صداقة مع بعض منهم، كما سبق لي أن كتبت عن عدد منهم، وقد عشت معهم خلال كتابتي عن كل واحدٍ منهم. كنت أستحضرهم وأُظهِر إبداع كل منهم في ما نظمه من شِعر وأكشف عن مواطن الجمال فيه.
أول هؤلاء الشعراء: إبراهيم اليازجي الذي ولد سنة 1847 وتوفي سنة 1906 وآخرهم جورج غانم الذي ولد سنة 1932 وتوفي سنة 1992، وآخر المتوفين فؤاد الخشن سنة 2006 فيكون الفارق بين رحيله ورحيل إبراهيم اليازجي مئة سنة.
عسى أن يُسهم هذا الكتاب في تأريخ الشِّعر اللبناني الذي جدّد في الشعر العربي الحديث.
آمل أن أكون قد أعدت لهؤلاء الشعراء اللبنانيين الذين رحلوا حضورهم في ذاكرة الوطن لأن لبنان توأم الشعِّر.
