هذا الكتاب قصد به أن يرشد الطالب الذي يدرس الكيمياء العامة في كليات المجتمع إلى الأسلوب الأمثل في حل المسائل، كي يزيد من فهمه للمواضيع التي يتناولها المنهاج، وفي هذا الجزء تم تجميع المسائل والأسئلة تحت عناوين الوحدات كما وردت في الخطة المعدة من قبل وزارة التعليم العالمي.
وقد غطت الأسئلة المختارة كل الجوانب الأساسية في كل وحدة، لكن ما لا يندرج في هذه الأسئلة الموسعة غطي على نحو تام في عدد كبير من الأسئلة الموضوعية التي كانت أكثر شمولاً؛ وقد أوردت إجابات هذه الأسئلة دون أن توضح طريقة الوصول إليها، وعلى الطالب أن يناقش نفسه للوصول إلى الإقتناع بالجواب، إذا كانت محاولته قد أتت بجواب مخالف، وفي الأسئلة الموسعة من المبادئ ما كان شرحه معيناً له في هذا.
