يعتبر هذا الكتاب أول من طرق هذا الموضوع بشكل عام إذا لم يتحدث فيه الفقهاء والقدامى في كتبهم إلا بإشارات عابرة هنا وهناك في ثنايا الكتب حيث يبدأ تعريف الحق هو الثابت الذي لا يسوغ إنكاره وأما فقهاء المعاصرين فيعرفونه هو اختصاص يقربه الشرع سلطة أو تكليفا ثم يعدد أقسام الحق وهي حق لله وللعباد معا وكان حق الله هو الغالب وحق الله هو الغالب وحق لله وللعباد وكان حق العباد هو الغالب كالقصاص وفي الفصل الأول يتناول حقيقة الشفاعة وهي طلب إسقاط أو ترك حق من حقوق الواجبة لله أو للعباد تخفيفا ورحمة للمشفوع له وإظهارا لمنزلة الشفيع عند المشفع ثم يشير إلى حكمها وهي الجواز والوجوب والمندوب ويورد أدلة من الكتاب والسنة ثم يبين أنواع الشفاعة والشفاعة الحسنه مبيناً أثارها في المجتمع والشفاعة السيئة وأثارها ويتناول في هذا الفصل مجالات الشفاعة وهي الشفاعة في القصاص والشفاعة في الحدود قبل ثبوتها وبعد ثبوتها والشفاعة في التعزير قبل ثبوتها وبعد ثبوتها وشفاعة المنصب والوظيفة موضحا وسائلها: الهدية والرشوة والشفاعة في الدين والشفاعة في الصدقة والشفاعة في الزواج والشفاعة في الجهاد وفي الفصل الثالث يتناول الشفاعة والمحاماة حيث يوضح مفهوم المحاماة لغة واصطلاحا مبينا المحاماة في الإسلام وآراء الفقهاء في المحاماة قديما وحديثا وعلاقة المحاماة بالشفاعة وحكمة مشروعية المحاماة.
