استهدفت هذه الدراسة التعرف على حجم مشكلة التحرّش بين أفراد عينة الدراسة، وأهم أنواع التحرّش بالمرأة في مجتمع عمان، والعوامل المؤثّرة بالتحرّش، والأسباب الكامنة وراءها، إضافة إلى دراسة أثر بعض المتغيرات الشخصية والثقافية في أشكال التحرّش والحلول القانونية لهذه المشكلة.
استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي المرتبط بالأسلوب المسحي في هذه الدراسة، واشتمل مجتمع الدراسة على أفراد في محافظة العاصمة عمان بفئاتهم المختلفة: الطلاب والعمال والموظفين وربات البيوت، بإستخدام العينة العشوائية، حيث درست العينة في مراكز حكومية وغير حكومية، وجامعات حكومية وخاصة، وأماكن عامة في منطقة القويسمة لتمثّل شرق عمان، ومنطقة تلاع العلي وخلدا لتمثل غرب عمان، ومنطقة وسط المدينة لتمثل وسط عمان، وطبقت الدراسة على (400) من الذكور والإناث، وحللت البيانات على برنامج (SPSS) بإستخدام المتوسطات والنسب المئوية والتباين الأحادي.
