"أماه حقا رحلت؟ كما يرحل الفجر، من غير وعد، ومن غير همس بلقيا، ومن غير حلم بعود، وخُلِّفتُ بعدك وحدي، أجوز فيافي التحدي، ومنفى الضياع، وشوك التردي، ستعثر في المشي رجلي، ويربد ليلي، وأبدو وكأني جفاني ظلي، لقد كنت بعدك درب العناءِ، وأضنى ببرد الشتاء، وصخر المسير، وقيظ العراء، وما في الطريق أنيس، ولا قبسة من ضياء، ولا همسة من حنان، ولا رعشة من وفاء".
بين طيات هذا الكتاب يجمع الشاعر "وليد قصاب" خلاصة تجربته الشعرية التي يدوّن فيها عيون من الشعر يحاكي فيها البشر والحجر بلغة هي كالعزف على أوتار الحياة.
الشعر معزوفة الحزن على أوتار القلب، وأنشودة الفرح على قيثارة النفس، وآية عشق العاشقين، وسبيل وصف المادحين.
الشعر لغة الأدباء ولسان البلغاء وكما أنه روضة الأحباء فهو عزاء أهل البلاء.
وهذه باقة شعرية فيها الحزن وفيها الفرح وفيها البشر وفيها الترح، إلا أنه كثر فيها وصف واقعنا الأليم فلذلك كانت لحناً من شجون الغرباء.
