Book Description
في كتابه هذا، يحلل الكاتب الأبعاد الاستراتيجية لمشروع "الشرق الأوسط الكبير" الذي طرحه الرئيس السابق جورج بوش في سنة 2004، بوصفه مجرد استعادة حرفية لأهم طروحات التوجه الاستشراقي سواء من جانب المحافظين الجدد أو من جانب المثقفين الصهاينة.
لقد أدخل الغزو الأميركي للعراق، العالم العربي في مرحلة جديدة، بعد انهيار النظام الاقليمي العربةي، حيث ترك تراجع الحضور السياسي العربي الفاعل في إقليم الشرق الأوسط فراغاً كبيراً، سعت كل من القوى الإقليمية الجديدة الصاعدة على غرار إيران وتركيا الى أن تملأه، إذ تملك كل من تركيا وإيران مشروعاً إقليمياً وسياسياً كبيراً، ولكل مشروع أنصار داخل العالم العربي، ولأنصار كل من المشروعين أيديولوجية تعارض أيديولوجية المشروع الآخر.
فهناك أولاً، مركزية الدور الإقليمي الإسرائيلي في النظام الشرق أوسطي قيد التشكل بوصفه دوراً وظيفياً يقوم على خدمة أهداف الإمبراطورية الأميركية ومصالحها في المنطقة. وهناك ثانياً المشروع الإقليمي الإيراني الهادف الى الفوز بملفه النووي وبحوار مع الولايات المتحدة الأميركية يضمن لإيران دوراً ومكانة في الإقليم بما في ذلك تسهيل خروج القوات الأميركية من العراق، واستخدام الأوراق الأخرى في صيغة للتعاون مع الولايات المتحدة، وهناك ثالثاً، المشروع الإقليمي التركي الذي تبلور في ظل نضج مكوناته الداخلية: الإصلاح الديمقراطي الداخلي على الرغم من المشكلات البنيوية التي تعاني منها أنقرة (المسألة الكردية، التشنجات مع الجيش والقوى العلمانية خلال عملية الدمقرطة التي تشهدها الدولة)، والاستقرار السياسي النسبي، والطاقات الاقتصادية الدينامية الهائلة، والقدرة على التوفيق بين الإسلام والديمقراطية.
