أرسل الله سبحانه وتعالى الأنبياء مبشرين ومنذرين لتستقيم أمور الناس وتنتظم شؤون حياتهم وما الدعوة الإسلامية الخاتمة إلا تتويجاً لهذا المنحى الإلهي الهادف إلى إصلاح المسار الإنساني والأخذ بيد الناس بعيداً عن مزالق الشر والرذيلة وقد وسعت رحمته كل شيء فجاءت دعوته سبحانه وتعالى عامة شاملة لجميع الناس فأحاطها بالعناية وأمدها بالمصادر الثابتة المحفوظة لتبقى مستمرة النفع على مر الأزمنة والعصور. والقرآن الكريم والسنّة النبوية المطهرة مصدران من مصادر الدعوة وتحويان الأسس الرئيسية للدعوة، والدكتور أحمد أحمد غلوش يقدّم في كتابه هذا الدعوة الإسلامية التي تضمن تحقيق السعادة للبشر وخلاصهم. فعلى ضوء ما جاء في القرآن والسنّة يبين المنهج الذي يضع داعية مؤمناً عالماً يألف الناس ويألفونه، كما يعرف بالطريقة المثلى في دعوة المخاطبين بالحكمة والموعظة الحسنة والمجادلة بالحسنى. وهو بهذا يهدف إلى تعريف الدعاة بوسائل الدعوة ليستفيدوا من مصادر الدعوة الإسلامية ويسيروا على نهجها القويم.
الكتاب في أربعة أبواب، في الباب الأول تعريف بالدعوة الإسلامية لغة واصطلاحاً مبيناً أركانها وأهدافها. أما الباب الثاني فأوقفه لدراسة مقارنة بين الإسلام والدعوات الإلهية السابقة التي ورد ذكرها في القرآن الكريم. في حين ركّز الباب الثالث على سبل تبليغ الدعوة الإسلامية مبيناً حكم تبليغ الدعوة وحكم من لم تبلغه الدعوة، وتبليغ الدعوة في إطار العقل والحرية. أما الباب الرابع والأخير فهو لبحث وسائل تبليغ الدعوة موضحاً مدى إمكانية الاستفادة من هذه الوسائل التي وردت في القرآن الكريم، وهو يبحث الوسائل البيانية للدعوة في القرآن مبيناً مدى اعتمادها على خطة واحدة. ثم يدرس السنّة كوسيلة للدعوة مستخرجاً بعد ذلك المنهج العام لهذه الوسائل لتكون أساساً لكل جديد مستحدث.
