هذه دراسة شاملة أخمّن أنّ الدكتور الهاشمي كتبها إلى النخبة، هدفها هو إعادة كتابة تاريخ دلمون - البحرين، وفق المنهجيّات الفكريّة والإجتماعيّة والإقتصادية والجغرافيّة والنفسيّة بصفة خاصّة.
ومن المدهش والمفرح معاً إنّ كتاب الدكتور علوي الهاشمي يبتعد بإصرار عن التفسير السياسيّ، ويقدّم، بدلاً عن ذلك، تفسيراً شاملاً بنيوياً يتضمّن مدارس متعدّدة، فيوظّف النصف الأوّل من الكتاب للتفسير الفكريّ، معالجاً الصراع بين الإشكاليّة والثنائيّة في حضارة أرخبيل البحرين منذ الفترة الدلمونيّة؛ ويعالج أيضاً المثال بإعتباره خلاصة الواقع الإنسانيّ والرمز النفسيّ والفكريّ والجماليّ والسلوكيّ لإنسان الأرخبيل، ثمّ إنّه يطوّر مفهوم "المثال" ويطبّقه على قيم هذا الأرخبيل متمثلاً في الذاكرة الأسطوريّة، كما ي ملحمة جلجامش، وعلاقتها بثنائيّة المثال والواقع البيئيّ في دلمون - البحرين.
إنّ كتابه هذا هو عملٌ إنسانيّ لا يهمّش الإنسان البسيط، الّذي يحرث الأرض بعشق وعناد، او الّذي يكتشف أسرار البحر وثرواته ثمّ يعود إلى نزله منعزلاً منطوياً على نفسه.
وعندما انتهيت من قراءة الكتاب، فكّرت بما يلي: إن شاء المرء أن يبحث عن تحليل نفسيّ للشخصيّة الدلمونيّة - البحرينيّة، فليس أفضل من وصف الهاشميّ لها بحياده الصارم.
إنّ نتاج الهاشميّ هذا هو عملٌ إنسانيّ عميق لربّما ارتأى القارئ قراءته بتأن وهدوء ليفهم ما تحمله السطور من معانٍ مختلفة.
