-أنه أول كتاب يرى النور - فيما أعلم - حاملاً على صفحته الأولى اسم عالم جديد من علماء الأمة الإسلامية، ألا وهو أبو علي الحسن بن أحمد الإستراباذي.
أنّه يحمل معه قيمة أثرية وتاريخيّة بالغة فمؤلّفنا قد نشأ في القرن الرابع، ومات في الخامس، وهذا يعطي بعداً جليّاً لقيمة الكتاب وصاحبه، فهو من علماء الشَّرْب الأول - إن صحّ التعبير -.
-أسلوب مؤلّفه أمتاز بالسلاسة والجمال، فكلّ من قرأه لا يملّ من جميل عباراته وغزارة فوائده، ولا سيّما طريقة السؤال والجواب، الباعثة على التشوّف وحب التطلّع، وهو معروف مُعالج.
- تنوّع العلوم ومسائله التي ضمّت دَفَّتيه، من معاني القرآن الكريم وغريب الحديث والأمثال واللغة والنحو والتصريف والعروض والأبنية والإشتقاق ومعاني الشعر، على إختصارها وإنتقائها، يبعد السآمة عن القارئ في القراءة في فنّ واحد، أضف إلى ذلك إعطاء الموسوعيّة للقارئ وفتح أبوابها أمامه.
-أنّه أضاف لمن ترجم له - على قلّتهم - كتابين لم يُذكرا له، وهما شرح كتاب البلغة، والكتاب الذي بين أيدينا.
