لم أعدّ إحياء كتاب باتون الذي مضى عليه خمسون عاماً (مائة وأربعة عشر عاماً بتاريخ اليوم) في ثوب عربي جهداً ضائعاً، إذ لا يزال حائزاً لكثير من المزايا، ومحتفظاً بقدر كبير من قيمته العلمية، فاسمه لم يُغْفَل بعد، كما ذكرت، في أثبات مراجع المستشرقين أو الباحثين من أبناء البلاد العربية والإسلامية، فقد ذكره المستشرق البلجيكي الأب لامنس في مراجع كتابه: "الإسلام عقائده ونظمه"، وذكره المستشرق الهولندي فنسنك في كتابه: "العقيدة الإسلامية" (لندن سنة 1932م)، واعتمد عليه المستشرق الاسكتلندي مونتجومري وات في كتابه: "حرية الإرادة والجبر في الإسلام القديم" (لندن سنة 1948م، وأشار إليه المرحوم أحمد أمين في الجزء الثالث من كتابه ضحى الإسلام.
