هذا البحث محاولة في استكشاف القصيدة الكامنة فينا، بحيث تصبح علاقتنا بالله قصيدة نكتبها تعبيراً عن أنفسنا. علاقة ستغير من موقع الله في حياتنا الفردية والاجتماعية بشكل جذري. إن الله في هذه العلاقة غاية وليس وسيلة إلى غيره. حتى لو كنا نريد المنافع التي بيد الله. وسنبقى على الدوام بحاجة إليها. فإننا سنريد الله تعالى لذاته وسنأمل أن يمنحنا مما لديه كأمر إضافي. إن الله في هذه العلاقة يعيد من نظرة أنفسنا إلى أنفسنا. ويعيدها بطريقة تؤثر لا فقط على حياتنا الشخصية بل على حياتنا الاجتماعية. ذلك إن تأثيرها على أنفسنا سيبلغ إلى حد تغيير نظرتنا للمنع والأخذ وهذا يغير ديناميكية العلاقات الاجتماعية بشكل عميق. فبدلاً من تكون علاقاتنا مع الآخرين متأثرة بالثواب والردع والعقاب فحسب، فإنها أيضاً ستتأثر بهذه النظرة الجديدة التي تزيل قيم المنع والأخذ وتخلق فرصة لأن يكون للعطاء قيمة ذاتية.
