يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن نمو المعرفة واللغة، اللغة والفكر، ورأي علم النفس. أهمية اللغة، الأهمية النفسية للغة، وعن ضلالات اللغة والأهمية الإجتماعية للغة. ثم يتابع الحديث عن مراحل نمو اللغة عند الأطفال، والعوامل المؤثرة في النمو اللغوي. ويتكلم عن دور التربية تعلم اللغة، وعن الصحة النفسية، ونمو ذكريات الطفولة، وفي الصحة النفسية، ونمو الذاكرة.
تخرج المؤلف من جامعة الملك فؤاد عام 1948 حصل على الدرجة الأولى لاختبار مدرسي الفلسفة في وزارة المعارف السورية، عمل في الهيئة الفنية في وزارة المعارف. أعير للتدريس في جامعة الملك سعود في الرياض، أصبح عضو في اللجنة الوطنية للثقافة و العلوم في دمشق و القاهرة أثناء الوحدة. أشرف على ركن الطلبة في الإذاعة السورية، يعمل حاليا مشرفا على الدراسات النفسية في الموسوعة العربية. ألف 37 كتابا في ميدان الإنسانيات و علم النفس.
