تعد رواية الفتاة المسترقّة من أهم روايات الكاتبة, فازت بجائزة (جوك كامبل) وأثارت صدى واهتماماً واسعين في الوسط الإعلامي- الثقافي, حيث تثير الكاتبة التعاطف مع الوجود الإنساني. روايتها مشوقة وتعد صرخة احتجاج وإدانة للا إنسانية النظم والسلطات الزمنية والدينية تجاه المرأة. تعتبر الرواية مفعمة بالحيوية والإثارة. ومن أهم ما تناولته الرواية من مواضيع: الفتاة المسترقّة, الفيلنزا, رحلة قصيرة, سوق أونيتشا, شر لابد منه, الهوية المفقودة, أوكولي وسرّه, آل بلاغدا, دين غني, علامات التغير, ضريبة على النساء, فطر الحرية, الوطن. ما أحلى الوطن, وصول الغريب, مستبعدة من جديد.
بوتشي ايمشيتا: ولدت في لاغوس بنيجيريا وقدمت الى لندن, عام 1962. صدر لها العديد من الروايات منها: في الخندق, مواطن من الدرجة الثانية, مهر العروس, إضافة الى العديد من كتب الأطفال ومسرحيتان عرضتا على شاشة قناة تلفزيون BBC وسيرة ذاتية بعنوان ( رأس فوق الماء). صدرت عام 1968.
