هذا الكتاب يمهد بالحديث عن النخوة العربية الأصيلة وأثرها في دفع حماسة العرب نحو الوقوف إلى جانب المظلوم ورد المعتدين، ويشير إلى أبرز تلك النخوات العربية وهي نخوة العوجا التي عرف بها آل سعود الميامين واشتهرت بين أهل العارض في نجد، ويذكر المدلول اللغوي لكلمة العوجا التي تكون في الغالب صفة لشيء أعوج من الأمكنة أو أجزاء من جسم الإنسان أو حيوان. ويعرض الكتاب أراء الباحثين في مدلول كلمة العوجا ويناقش كل رأي منها، ثم يختم بإيراد التفسير الراجح لمدلول هذه الكلمة التي اتضح انها ذات ارتباط مكان بالدرعية، وارتباط ديني بالدعوة الإصلاحية التي انطلقت منها.
