كانَ ياما كانَ... في قَديمِ الزَّمانِ... في مَكانٍ ما عَلى هَذِهِ الأرضِ... كانَتْ هُناكَ مَمْلَكَةٌ صَغيرَةُ، يَحْكُمُها مَلِكٌ عادِلٌ حَكيمٌ، اسْمُهُ عَبْدُ المَجيدِ، لَهُ ثَلاثَةُ أَبْناءٍ... وَليدٌ، ورَشيدٌ، وحَميدٌ.
حَكَمَ المَلِكُ عَبْدُ المَجيدِ بلادَهُ سِنينَ طويلةً، حتى كَبُرتْ سِنُّهُ وضعُفت صِحَّتُهُ، فأراد أن يترك الحُكْمَ لأحدِ أبنائهِ، ليستريح من أعبائه في السَّنوات الباقيةِ لَهُ من عُمُرِهِ؛ أخَذَ المَلِكُ يُقارِنُ بَيْنَ أبنائهِ ليُقَرِّرَ مَنْ مِنْهُمُ يَصْلُحُ للِحُكْمِ أكثر من أخويهِ... فاحتارَ أيُهُم يختارُ... فالثلاثة يتميزون بالشَّجاعة والإقدامِ، وبالعَدْلِ والشَّهامة، وبالعلمِ والحِكمَةِ.
تَذكر الملِكُ زوجتهُ الحبيبة التي تُوُفيت منذُ سنتين، وتمنَّى لو كانت معه في ذلك الوقتِ لتُساعدهُ في الإختيار... فقد كانت تُعينُهُ دائماً في تخطّي الصِّعابَ، وتُشاركُهُ في التَّفكيرِ وإتخاذِ القرارات؛ فكَّرَ المَلِكُ وفَكَّرَ... وأخيراً قالَ لنفسه: "إنَّ إختيارَ المَلِكة المُناسبة لا يقلُّ أهميَّةً عن إختيار الملكِ الصّالحِ... ولولا وجود زوجتي إلى جانبي، لَما استطعتُ أن أحكم المملكة حُكماً عادلاً، او أربِّي أبنائي تربيةً صالحةً... لذلك سأختارُ من أبنائي من تكون له زوجةٌ صبورةٌ وحكيمةٌ... حازمةٌ لكنَّها رحيمةٌ، ومدبرةٌ لكنَّها كريمةٌ".
فهل يا سترى ستكون الفتاة ذات القناع الذي تتمتع بروح جميلة ولكنها تفتقر إلى الجمال؟...
