إن دراسة الأديان لم تكن يوماً من الأيام فكراً خالياً من التأثير والحركة في سبيل بناء وتكوين المجتمعات التي تسعى كي تكون في سلم الرقي والتقدم المدني والعلمي لأن رسالات السماء لم تنزل لتقف أمام العقل وتواجهه بحيث تشكل عائقاً في إطار مسيرته الفكرية وطموحاته التي لا تقف عند حدّ، بل نزلت لتخاطب الناس من خلال العقل وعلى أساسه، ولتحركه وتجعله منفتحاً على ربه وعلى حياته وواقعه.
وانطلاقاً من هذا كانت دراسة الأديان ببعضها أمر ضروري من ناحيتين الأولى: معرفة الفكر الديني كثقافة من الثقافات التي شهدها التاريخ البشري. الثاني: معرفة وجه الحق فيها، هذا وان الباحث المقارن لا بد أن يصل في نهاية المطاف إلى ثمرة معينة قد تساعده على تكوين فكرة محددة، تكون له حافزاً نحو ضرورة إيجاد مجتمع تسوده أخلاق السماء.
وفي هذا الكتاب حاولت المؤلفة القيام بتلك الدراسة المقارنة بشكل مختصر، وهي على اختصارها مفيدة ومقنعة لأنها عالجت لب المسائل التي تشغل محوراً هاماً في العقيدة المسيحية في قبال المسائل التي تعتبر أساسية في العقيدة الإسلامية أيضاً.
